ICAP Executive Search and Selection on behalf of its client, a Greek Metal Processing Manufacturing Company, member of a multinational leading group, is looking for a high caliber and driven General Manager, based in Thessaloniki

General Manager (Ref. code 5297/GEM/ESS/GR)

The Role: 

The GM will lead the activities of the company in Greece and export markets (including business development, marketing, and sales). This executive role is challenging and appeals to people who have a pioneering spirit and a founder’s mentality. Reports directly to Board of Directors.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Establish and implement a business plan
  • Lead the company to accomplish its business and operational targets
  • Form and establish the first team of the company
  • Manage the leaders of the various activities
  • Design working practices and procedures of the new company
  • Form a capital investment and improvement plan for the site, according to the company's needs
  • Responsible for maintaining a budget and P&L
  • Set targets and performance metrics for the company's activities
  • Manage, preserve, and develop the human capital of the company
  • Supervise compliance with applicable regulations 

Απαραίτητα Προσόντα

Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Economics, Business Management or similar course of study. Master's Degree or MBA strongly desirable
  • Ten years’ experience in production environment with at least five years of experience at the Manager level position, demonstrating organizational leadership experience. International Operations experience, is desirable
  • Excellent knowledge of English
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Integrity, reliability and accurate reporting
  • Strong people management experience
  • Flexibility, Multitasking & Ability to solve complex manufacturing problems
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • In-depth understanding of manufacturing operations and methods associated with custom production, processing, and assembly of specialty metal parts
  • Broad range of knowledge including concepts and practical application in regulatory compliance
  • Strategic thinking skills and high level of negotiation skills
  • Ability to turn a basic idea/target into a work plan and the ability to carry out that plan
  • Demonstrated decision making skills and ability to adapt to changing demands, resolve issues of the day, and maintain strategic direction
  • Effective team-building skills, the ability to influence and lead people and establishing a motivational work environment
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in communication, resolving conflicts, decisiveness, commitment to company objectives
