Production Manager

BIOPIX-T, a biotechnology start-up in the field of molecular diagnostics based in the Science and Technology Park of Crete (STEP-C), is looking for a Production Manager.

As the Production Manager, you will be acting in concert with the top Management, the R&D and the Sales departments. You will be responsible for the supervision and the optimization of the production process of the company’s products. You will own the quality control of your area of responsibility and you will oversee that our subcontractors adhere to the requirements of the quality agreements that bind them. You will prepare regular progress reports towards the management and seek opportunities for improvement. Above all, you will be resourceful in overcoming potential delays in production.

Responsibilities of the job include:

- planning and organizing production schedules for all products (instruments and diagnostic test kits)
- assessing project and resource requirements
- estimating, negotiating and agreeing budgets and timescales with internal and external stakeholders
- ensuring that health and safety regulations are met
- determining quality control standards and performing sample quality checks on the final products
- overseeing production processes
- re-negotiating timescales or schedules as necessary
- selecting, ordering and purchasing materials
- organizing the repair and routine maintenance of production equipment
- liaising with buyers and marketing and sales staff
- supervising and managing the work of junior staff
- organizing relevant training sessions.

Skills

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Biology or Biochemistry.
- Post graduate degree in Management would be desirable.
- Experience of min 2 years in a similar role.
- Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (min. ISO9001, desirable ISO13485)
- Ability to problem-solve, both autonomously and within teams.
- Approachable and confident personality type, comfortable within a wide range of organizational environments.
- High integrity and natural desire to assume responsibility.
